I am so sorry. I will try to be regular poster here from now onwards. I think most people only want to scroll already popular sites which have huge traffic. These sites seem to be started with huge start up capital or venture capital or some other sort of funding. They have enough funds at their disposal to carry out marketing campaigns for years while still being in debt and without any source of income from add for years.
However, if we see the real reason behind the success of such sites and difficulty of small websites without any funding is the users. Majority of people have the herd mentality and are living a, surface level life. Deep thinking, philosophy and other existential questions never bother them, let alone asking good questions related to science, history and Geography.
This website being in the domain of knowledge sharing with a Q and A format makes the traffic already narrow as very few are interested in actual knowledge sharing.
The ones which appear successful have a very low quality of answers and questions on their site, but somehow have adopted to boosting Dopamine rush in their users with their already huge traffic, and algorythm promoting dramatic, story like and funny answers. The readers mindlessly upvote such answers, thus creating a cycle of mediocre content being pushed further.
The most striking issue (not really) I see why people do not revisit this beautiful website is it's transparence. Yes, the moment they see the number of registered users, all time list of questions and answers, etc. They get the idea that there's not much traffic here. This immediately drives away majority of people away from the website.
This is just my opinion and might not be necessarily a fact.
Hope this helps.
